The Phoenix Rises…

I’m back!  Welcome to KingLizzle.com.  If you’re visiting the site then the chances are you know me already, but if you don’t then you can find out who I am on the About Me page.

I used to own and run a site called Tsardom.net which was my first stab at running a blog.  In the process I taught myself a lot of useful things about using Photoshop, designing a site and publicising articles.  In little over a year I’d clocked up over 72,000 hits which was no mean feat.  The problem was that the site had basically become a gaming and technology news site which got in the way of me enjoying writing.  I’d be battling to get out an article on the latest story in order to get in traffic before people read it elsewhere and it became stressful and frustrating.  The site was also tied to an old persona/online identity that I really wanted to get away from.  So after a bereavement I decided to close the site and delete most of my old social networking/email accounts.

Having taken a break from things to gain perspective I recently found myself wanting to talk, debate or rant about certain issues in ways that I can’t do justice to via social media.  So I decided to take my previous experience of blogging and craft a new site based around my current persona which bridges my real and online worlds.  This time I’m creating a personal blog where I can write as frequently or infrequently as I want about anything that happens to be on my mind.  It won’t become another new site and not every post will be a treatise.  I may post short snippets or even just a picture but the main thing is that I want this site to be more personal, intimate and fun.  I enjoy debating and talking about subjects and I’d be far happier with a handful of people reading a post and commenting on it or engaging with me about it on Twitter than I would getting 1,000 hits with no interaction.  I’ve imported a few posts and reviews I previously wrote which I enjoyed and are indicative of the direction I’ll be going in.  You can find those in the site’s Archive.

Today is my birthday which seems like the perfect time for the site to go live.  So with that, KingLizzle.com rises like a phoenix from the ashes of the past…
